the perfect savannah georgia elopement

nancy and josh both moved to athens around the same time i did in 2021.

over the years, i’ve had the genuine pleasure of not only being their friend, but also working with them in a photographic capacity many times. graduation photos — nancy earning her masters in nutrition science, josh his phd in engineering. photos with their sweet dogs, indi and luna. branding work for nancy and her private fitness coaching.

it’s never lost on me how much trust that takes — to be invited back, again and again, to document different seasons of someone’s life.

the greatest honor came last year, when they asked me to photograph their wedding.

nancy and josh got engaged in late july, and when we sat down to talk through what their day would look like, it felt like a dream from the start. a simple, intimate elopement in Savannah — just their parents, a few close friends, and their dogs. ending the day with dinner cooked by a private chef.

when the day finally came, it was exactly that.

a quiet airbnb in downtown savannah. a short walk to Chatham Square for the ceremony. something simple, honest, and beautiful.

and then dinner — shared together, unhurried. one of those meals you don’t forget.

it was a dreamy, deeply intentional day.

it never stops amazing me, the gift that photography is — and the trust people place in me to step into moments like this, and preserve them.

i’m incredibly thankful to know nancy and josh, to have been a part of so many chapters of their lives, and to have been there to document the beginning of this one.
